Jews You Should Know

Jul 23, 2018

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

As a young girl growing up in Rockland County, NY, and as a student at the University of Michigan, Meredith (Englander) Polsky never imagined she would one day be running a national organization advocating for and training about children with disabilities. But after a chance encounter with one special child on the first day of Camp Ramah one summer, she had a "light-bulb moment" that catalyzed a dream and a journey.

Today, Matan runs an incredible array of training programs for Jewish educators across the spectrum, helping ensure that every Jewish child finds a place in the Jewish classroom and an approach to Jewish learning that will resonate in his or her unique language.

Meredith co-founded Matan and, with a dedicated team of colleagues, drove its growth and evolution over the past two decades, resulting in an acclaimed enterprise, still the product of one young woman's irrepressible vision.
