Jews You Should Know

Jul 16, 2018

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Izzy Ezagui grew up in a regular Jewish family in Miami, Florida. But his adult life has been anything but "regular"; while serving in the IDF, a rocket attack destroyed Izzy's arm. He knew, however, that his life would not be derailed, that he would not only resume living but would return to once again serve his country. After intensive rehab and quite a bit of persuasion, Izzy found himself back in service, and in fact elevated his skills and his unit status to become a special forces sharpshooter.

Today Izzy lives in Los Angeles, pursuing a career as an actor and screenwriter. He often highlights themes of determination and overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, a reflection of his own improbable life journey.

His memoir, "Disarmed: Unconventional Lessons from the World's Only One-Armed Special Forces Sharpshooter," can be found on Amazon or wherever books are sold.
